Peace Yoga Cork Block Review

If you’ve been looking high and low for the best cork yoga block…I’m happy to tell you that you’ve found it.

This set of two blocks by Peace Yoga ware built to last. They are incredibly dense, and made from super durable cork. They are a tad on the heavy side, but nothing ridiculous.

As long as you’re not carrying them to class every single day, you won’t be bothered by it. If you do bring your blocks back and forth on a daily basis, scroll down and go for something a little lighter on our list.

These blocks are sweat and slip resistant, and they don’t slide out from under you unless you’re pushing them forward. That is a great quality in a yoga block!

Peace Yoga has adorned these blocks with a few different designs that you can choose from. You are also able to choose between a 3 inch or 4 inch set, depending on your needs.

In case you need some clarification, the inches refer to thickness. I prefer the 3 inch set…the 4 inch is just a bit too high up. Taller people would be well suited to the 4 inchers!

If you want a good, solid pair of yoga blocks that will last you forever, these are your best bet!

REEHUT Yoga Block Review

If the Peace Yoga cork blocks are seemingly too heavy for you, then you’ll love this yoga block by REEHUT!

REEHUT yoga blocks are available in a variety of fun colors to spice up your practice. They also offer a choice of a set of two or a single block. You may choose between 3 inch and 4 inch thickness options. Whatever works for you!

These blocks are 100% eco-friendly and completely slip resistant. They are very easy to hang on to, even with sweaty hands.

They are lightweight and sturdy, made with REEHUT foam. One downside here would be that the company does not fully disclose exactly what REEHUT foam is.

Whatever it is, it’s certainly light and easy to carry around. If you’ve got a good sized mat bag, these blocks are great to toss in and take to class on the daily.

The REEHUT blocks are soft and moisture proof. They do slide a bit every now and then when you’ve got your weight on them. It’s nothing huge, maybe a quarter of an inch or so. I’ve used this flaw in them to engage my core to keep them from slipping.

Manduka Recycled Foam Yoga Block Review

A trusted yogi brand, Manduka offers up a durable and thick 4 inch yoga block for your home or studio practice.

Made with super durable EVA foam, this block is a great option if you’re looking for cork durability in foam form. It’s all about preference!

Manduka makes this block with 50-75% recycled EVA.

The sides are rounded, making this block very easy to hang on to. It’s much softer than it looks and a bit heavier than the REEHUT blocks. It won’t slide unless you’re pushing it.

It’s thick, just shy of 4 inches high and much denser than a few of the other foam blocks that are flooding the market (like the Giam brand blocks…so flimsy!). A little extra weight won’t matter here, it’s perfectly light enough to toss in a bag for class. It will also store easily on a shelf at home.

A great product for any practice!

Amazon Basics Yoga Block Review

This block set by Amazon Basics is a great option. They are super lightweight, but the foam is clearly durable. You can tell just by picking them up that they aren’t flimsy.

These blocks are my favorite to stack together if my back is sore from running, which happens occasionally.

I tend to be gentler with my back during yoga when this happens, and these stack so well on top of each other. They don’t slip apart during practice like some other blocks might.

They are resistant to slipping when your hands are sweaty as well, but may slide a bit if you push on them too hard. If you keep them on your mat, you won’t have that problem.

What to Look For in a Yoga Block

Now that you’ve taken a look at the best blocks out there, let’s talk a bit about how to choose one.

Like most yoga props, it all comes down to what you need personally. With something like a yoga block, it can come down to liking the look of cork better than foam.

Yoga blocks of any kind will work for beginners and pros alike, so how what on earth should you look for when you’re choosing one?

High Quality Foam/Cork

You want something that isn’t going to chip away on you while putting it to use.

Some foam blocks are so cheap that all it takes is an accidental swipe with your fingernail to chip it. No, thanks.

You want durable, high quality material from your blocks. Any block on our list will meet that want.

Slip Resistant

It’s okay for a yoga block to slide a very minimal amount, but if you’ve got one that can’t stand up to body weight then you’ve got a potentially dangerous situation.

Having your block slide out from under you can leave you with pulled and very sore muscles. Look for a block that is resistant to sweat and sticks well to the floor.

I prefer to keep any block on my mat during practice to prevent sliding all together.

There is nothing gimmicky or useless about a yoga block. It’s something that will greatly benefit your practice, as long as you choose one of high quality. If you’re unsure, go with my top pick: Peace Yoga Cork Block.

I’ve had my set for so long, and they haven’t shown much wear at all. They don’t slide, even with a good amount of pressure on the hard studio floor.

They’re safe as long as you’re using them correctly, and they’ll take your practice to the next level by allowing you to get deeper into poses that you can’t normally access without them.

Yoga blocks in general come highly recommended (by me and professionals), to aid in your yoga journey.

Final Thoughts

Yoga itself is amazing for your mind and body. Just by choosing yoga, you’re making a stellar life choice.

Adding props to your practice can improve it tenfold. Once you get a feel for a certain pose using props, you’ll begin to be able to get yourself into that same pose without props.

Yoga blocks are a step in the journey to yoga perfection! Even the most advanced yogis use them to access a deeper breath or a more satisfying stretch.

It doesn’t really matter which block you purchase, though this guide is a great place to start. Any block here is guaranteed to improve your practice.
